Editorial Review:
Album Description: First ever single-disc long song collection spanning Sinatra's years with Reprise Records & Capitol Records. Features Sinatra's studio duet with Celine Dion - 'All They Way'. Just in time for Valentine's Day. Reprise Records.
Amazon.com: The Sinatra who could more than convincingly offer that he had a crush on you is represented by this sweetly packaged 22-track collection. Culled mostly from the early Reprise years (with a four-cut sample of Capitol performances), Greatest Love Songs makes an airtight case for his work during the period. Often tender, occasionally enthusiastic, these selections skirt the bombast and self-parody the Chairman sometimes fell into on his own label. Popular classics like "Fly Me to the Moon" and "The Way You Look Tonight" are more than matched by keepers like the dramatically slowed Sinatra & Strings version of "Night and Day," the swinging dare of "Let's Fall in Love," and the elegiac 1961 take of "I'm Getting Sentimental Over You." Save for the thud of a studio-engineered posthumous duet with Celine Dion--an insult both to Sinatra and one of the most delicate of his signature songs, "All the Way"--this is an exemplar of the Valentine-themed album. --Rickey Wright

Most people think I'm insane to love Sinatra as much as I do...especially because I have such an eccentric music collection. This CD is great if you love Sinatra's music - you get all his goodies in one little place. He can croon to me as much as he wants.

Frank Sinatra was a master of song in all areas, but none more fluently in the romantic ballad. His love songs are so passionate, sincere and powerful that the government would probably try to quarantine them in the event of an overpopulation crisis.
With that being said, "Greatest Love Songs" is somewhat of a disappointment. Yes, the 22 songs here all classic recordings (even if one is butchered by the dreadful presence of Celine Dion), and they all sound excellent, but as far as the concept of the compilation goes, they could've done a lot better.
It should be noted that as far as Frank's love songs go, there are some absolute essentials included here: "Strangers In The Night," "My Heart Stood Still," "Moonlight Serenade," ... Read More:

What can you say about this musical genius. Every song he sang in his career, was a hit. I loved him from the first time I heard him sing "How Deep Is The Ocean", 'Moonlight In Vermont', and other songs that are well linked with my life and mariage of nearly 49 years.I have all of his music in one form or another and reccomend this double treasure to anyone who wants a good Sinatra album/s. It has most of the songs that will get to your heartstrings...I Love it.

Bought this cd for my boyfriend because he loves frank, and he was so excited not only because it was his greatest love songs, but there were tracks on the cd that sinatra sang to that he had never heard before. It's a cd with a lot of great songs, if you're a frank fan you can't go wrong with this cd.

What can you say? It's Sinatra at his best in the least sappy yet still romantic love songs. These are the ones even men from mars are willing to admit they like. All classics - you just cannot go wrong.
