 Rating:  - Ooooo Baby - sing to meMost people think I'm insane to love Sinatra as much as I do...especially because I have such an eccentric music collection. This CD is great if you love Sinatra's music - you get all his goodies in one little place. He can croon to me as much as he wants. Rating:  - Okay, But Lacking. Frank Sinatra was a master of song in all areas, but none more fluently in the romantic ballad. His love songs are so passionate, sincere and powerful that the government would probably try to quarantine them in the event of an overpopulation crisis. With that being said, "Greatest Love Songs" is somewhat of a disappointment. Yes, the 22 songs here all classic recordings (even if one is butchered by the dreadful presence of Celine Dion), and they all sound excellent, but as far as the concept of the compilation goes, they could've done a lot better. It should be noted that as far as Frank's love songs go, there are some absolute essentials included here: "Strangers In The Night," "My Heart Stood Still," "Moonlight Serenade," ... I loved him from the first time I heard him sing "How Deep Is The Ocean", 'Moonlight In Vermont', and other songs that are well linked with my life and mariage of nearly 49 years.I have all of his music in one form or another and reccomend this double treasure to anyone who wants a good Sinatra album/s. It has most of the songs that will get to your heartstrings...I Love it. It's a cd with a lot of great songs, if you're a frank fan you can't go wrong with this cd. Rating: - A must have in any collectionWhat can you say? It's Sinatra at his best in the least sappy yet still romantic love songs. These are the ones even men from mars are willing to admit they like. All classics - you just cannot go wrong. |
