 Rating:  - This CD does not reflect the real Cure.Hi, I am a long time Cure fan since Pornography came out. I must admit I am a musician that plays dark rock. I understood why Robert Smith needed a break from the Gothic style but this record only reflects the most upbeat shallow and less interesting of all the songs they wrote. Love Song and Inbetween Days are the only ones that ever got air play on this CD in LA, where I was living playing with my band. I was so dissapointed when I bought this CD. I hope they make another one that includes songs from Pornography, The Top, Faith and the dark music that made their name. I do not believe Smith is a sell out, he just decided to move in different musical directions and in my opinion they all just did not work. If you like the shallow dance ... This disc has all of the hit videos from The Cure as well as some Acoustic Recordings that I have not seen on any other set. This is definately something every fan should own! Interesting to watch Robert Smith morph from his early stages to the present. The best part of the DVD collection is the Acoustic renditions of the music and I only wish they would have showed all the songs that are in the CD played acoustically on the DVD. Watching them live and listening to this variation on the music is fantastic. Rating: - Awesome Collection!From the age of 12, I have been lulled by the sounds of The Cure. This DVD set gave me a real insight into the mind of Rober Smith & his "motley crew." I had only seen a handful of their videos & this opened a world of creativity I had never known. All the big songs are here & Robert draws you in to see the world the way he sees it. Again, awesome collection. |
