Editorial Review: Amazon.com: Though Morning View follows hot on the heels of Incubus's breakthrough single, "Drive," it doesn't feel rushed. After all, their previous album, Make Yourself, was released nearly two years ago. Like fellow Los Angeles metal pioneers System of a Down, Incubus find themselves lumped in with the nu-metal fraternity merely because they're young(ish), angry, and very loud. That's more than a little unfair, because their sound owes more to the clever and creative funk-metal of Faith No More and the Red Hot Chili Peppers than the faux-rap posturing of Limp Bizkit. In fact, songs like "Nice to Know You," "Circles," and the excellent "Blood on the Ground" display real maturity. But that's not all that sets Incubus apart: on "I Wish You Were Here," "Just a Phase," "11 a.m.," and "Mexico," they show an uncharacteristic willingness to tread softly, using acoustic guitars and touches of strings to make less noise, but more impact.  Rating:  - incubusIncubus is new to me. I am exploring their sound and continue to find reasons to continue. This cd is intelligent, as well as inspiring. Very very talented band. Rating:  - Great CD!!!!!This CD is excellent! My favorite records are "Circles", "Just a phase" and "Aqueous Transmission". Incubus is the best band ever, I love these guys, they are amazingly talented musicians! Brandon's voice is strong and sweet at the same time. He's the best singer ever! I could listen to him every single second of my day and never get tired. Love him! Rating: - Amazing!I'm a newer fan to Incubus (I bought this CD in 2005) but I absolutely love them and this CD is amazing! It's a lot different than their previous albums and this whole CD has a very California, laid-back vibe to it. Awesome lyrics, wonderful vocals, and it's very catchy! I recommend this to everyone! 1. Rating: - A very polished yet very warm Incubus album"Morningview" is an album that is perfect to listen to while watching the sun go down on a beautiful beach during the summer. It's very mellow, and even catchier than "Make Yourself." Most of the album is carried along by the vocals with the instruments becoming a little more subdued and relaxed. It's built on atmosphere and keeping a calm vibe, and it's basically a world apart from the unrestrained funk metal of "Fungus Amongus." There are still some heavier songs such as "Nice to Know You," "Circles" and "Wish You Were Here," but the best parts of the album are the quieter tunes like "Mexico," "Echo," "11am" and "Aqueous Transmission." One to listen to for years and years...One could effectively make a case either for or against Incubus. I know this because I'm currently torn over them. Back in High School, they were my favorite band. Since their 2004 album, A Crow Left of the Murder, I've steadily grown out of love with them. Brandon Boyd is truly unparalleled as a rock vocalist, though as a lyricist he's sometimes laughably flawed. Likewise, Mike Einziger often wavers between guitar god and spirited amateur. Incubus has their moments on every album where they simply blow you away, and for that, they deserved to be listened to. It is Morning View, however, that remains their most impressive LP to date!
