Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: Country Goes Raffi is the kind of feel-good disc for kids and parents that's destined to be played again and again. Raffi's music has always had an uplifting spirit, and his durable and gentle voice has made him a defining artist for kids who have grown up in the past 25 years. So it should be no surprise that when 13 of country's coolest singers and groups, from Asleep at the Wheel to Kathy Mattea, salute him, the result is an unbridled success. Whether it's the very young country star Billy Gilman serenading with "Baby Beluga," Marty Stuart celebrating organic farmers in "Naturally," or Rhonda Vincent's sweet version of "Bananaphone," your smile just grows as the CD spins. Alison's Krauss's "Blessed Be" ought be playing in every home and on every station these days. But it's "Blue White Planet," Raffi's new song, which he sings, that joyfully transcends all the happy moments and wonderfully frames our blue orb in the proper poetic context that the cosmos intended for it. --Martin Keller

The songs are very kid friendly, and enjoyable for adults too. Our three year old was learning the words after hearing the songs only once. (ie: banana phone and apples and bananas) And, if Allison Krauss's Blessed Be doesn't make you get goose bumps, hug your children, and promise to be the best parent possible...there is something wrong with you : ) Truly a beautiful song. The songs are upbeat and fun, without sounding like "toddler music". We love this CD.

Great music and except for a couple of very marginal artists, very well performed. If this were on vinyl, I'd have to replace it monthly. My daughter has even used it for sing-alongs in her pre-school!

A must have for country music loving parents. A well done tribute album by many of country's big names. I love all the songs, but would say my favorites are Lari White's Shake my Sillies Out and the Wilkinsons' All I Really Need.

Actually, I first heard "Apples and Bananas" before I ever heard this whole CD. I am familiar with Raffi but at - 54 - I was grown up by time he became popular. But I am also a fan of Rhonda Vincent. This is a GREAT CD, I recommend it to anyone who likes 'fun' music - grown up or not so much.

When I first listened to this CD I liked all of the songs. But my favorites are "This Little Light of Mine" sung by Elizabeth Cook, "The Bowling Song," sung by Asleep at the Wheel, and ``Down by the Bay," sung by Eric Heatherly. My whole family loves this CD. I like "This Little Light of Mine" because I like the way Darrell Scott plays the guitar, banjo, and the mandolin. All of the songs are written by Raffi or they are traditional arranged by Raffi but sung by famous country musicians. "All I Really Need" is good for everybody. Raffi has good people singing he is cute, but he is old .
