I was recently turned on to Mark Weakland's music when I happened across a positive review and wanted to learn more...I'm so glad for that introduction. "Blue and Blue" is one of my favorites on the CD. Weakland's music takes you to the places that his songs capture. This is a singer/songwriter worth listening to.

With the release of "Songs From the Country", Weakland soothes the listener with superb harmony vocals and great acoustic sound. His lyrics seem to come from deep within his soul, with the words creating a vivid picture for the listener. From a farmer lamenting in Blue in Blue, "I don't need much from life, but I sure need just a little more" to the upbeat, free-spirited sounds of Half Mile Hill, the only instrumental tune on the album, Weakland shows the versatility of his creative musical talents. Two thumbs up for "Songs From the Country".
