 Rating: - Just Like Being on the Porch with the Band!!!Wonderful selection of tunes! Reminds me of a group of friends getting together to play and sing songs. You are forced to play the old standards, because everyone knows how to play them! Most stringband musicians, by the time they get recorded, have moved on to obscure, non-traditional or self-authored music. So its very refreshing to hear excellent instrumentalists play traditional tunes. Bravo!!! Rating: - Beansprouts RockThis cd of old and some new tracks is a great example of American old time music played by real people. The musicianship is excellent, and the settings are fast and fun. Much of this cd is a rerelease of an original album from the 70's, but there are also tunes by some of the group members that were recently recorded. It's fun to see how they have grown as musicians and what they are up to now. |
