Saw her on TV last nite by accident, not one for blues normally, but she was OUTSTANDING!!!! Beautiful Strong voice, master at her craft in vocal and guitar, background musicians were perfect accompaniment, not drowning her out (as I find in So Many CDs nowadays-I want to hear the ARTIST! ).
I am DEFINITELY Buying this CD and most likely many others as I find them.. LOVE , LOVE LOVE HER!!!!!!!!!! A TRUE TREASURE OF A FIND!!! and I'm particular! I've heard many many songs now of hers and loved EVERY ONE which is also unusual for most artists I like. You wont be sorry if you buy this!

I played harmonica on a few performances with Ruthie in Charleston, SC in the summer of 1999. To see the audience reaction to her was outstanding, so I bought some of her stuff (inlcuding this) while she was in town. The autobiographical "Lost in the City" is incredible. I long to play with her again because she was as great as a person as she is a telent. It is a shame that singers like Ruthie are known only to the club crowd while less talented people make the megabucks. But buy "Full Circle" for some well-sung anthems to personal empowerment. Trurst me, it beats putting down the bucks for motivational speakers.

I first read about Ruthie in the Austin Chronicle, and then simply had to see her at ACL Music Fest. I was not disappointed. In looking back at all the great performances that day, Sunday, Ruthie topped them all. Her voice is comparable to Arthea, but I see a lot of Joan Armatrading in her music. Both women are extremely soulful, and leave you with the impression that you are in the company of undefined greatness. One my favorite Ruthie Foster songs is on her Crossover, the one about the Aggie bonfire. Everytime I play it have to sing and hold my glass up to those Aggies and all the friends that have touched my life.

Powerful voice, great musicianship, wonderful songwriting. A perfect blend of flok, blues, and gospel and others. Reccomended

There's not enough words of praise to give to Ruthie on Full Circle. She has one of the strongest voices I've ever heard, and if you get the chance to see her in person you'll be doubly amazed by her guitar playing as well. Ruthie's music can't be categorized - it's a little of everything. Every song on this CD is a special treat for the ears. Her voice carries depth and emotion which leaves you either crying, laughing or both. Let me put is this way... If you were stranded on a desert island and had to choose one CD to take with you this would be the one I would recommend.
