Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: Forty years after the Clancy Brothers found popularity singing traditional Irish folksongs to an American audience, along comes the Irish Tenors, the trio of John McDermott, Anthony Kearns, and Ronan Tynan. Backed by plenty of coverage on public television, the three tenors perform a soothing and nostalgic mix of Emerald Isle tunes--from "Danny Boy" to "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling," along with a few surprises. Recorded live at the Royal Dublin Society Main Hall with a light orchestra, the album gives each of the three vocalists his chance in the spotlight. Fans of John McDermott should be sure to seek out the artist's solo discs such as Remembrance, which are far more intimate (and musically diverse) fare. --Jason Verlinde

Yes, my heart is in Ireland, and this CD makes me want to return -- and stay. What a joy this music is.

this CD of THE IRISH TENORS is one of their best. I enjoy it every time I play it as if it was the very first time I heard it.

This is the first and the best of the Irish Tenors recordings (at least of those I have heard). I, personally, enjoy John McDermott much more than Finbar Wright, who replaced him. I have several recordings of "Danny Boy," and McDermott's stands out as the most authentic of them all. And this is before Ronan Tynan strayed into other genres and lost his vibrancy. Anthony Kearns? Consistently solid and enjoyable. I saw and heard this during public television's membership week, and it is great to hear the music without the pledge breaks. If you care for Irish music at all, you need this recording.

My favorite wedding song is on this Cd and was played, sung by John about the journey we all make in our married life and was enjoyed by all. I recomend this and all their music too all listeners of Irish classics.
