The audio quality of this CD is rather poor, but the worst is that it is sold without the original booklet which included the complete texts of Miss Russel's creation. A shame especially for those whose English is far from perfect. This should be clearly stated in the ad, but it is not. Rating: - Hardly any opera!When I listen to Anna Russell, I want to hear about opera. This CD is not an opera CD. Rating:  - Anna Russell again? But, of course!Anna Russell is a comic genius. Her musical parodies and spoofs keep you laughing throughout the record, huh CD. Her wonder--fully Brit--ish accent only adds to the effect. One should not miss Anna Russell in one's musical education. Rating: - Anna Russell AgainWe enjoyed this comedy CD very much. Anna Russell had an amazing ability to adapt her voice to any form of music, as she demonstrates when taking off various 'modern' music styles of her time (and earlier). She is also an excellent humourist. Rating: - Get it while you can!Anna's recorded works are rare, and until Sony Music started to replublish some of them, nearly impossible to find. Anna is a scream! Her parody of a subliminal advert on this CD is hilarious. Of course, her efforts to "prune-up the banana" are a hoot too! |
