I listended to a snipet of this cd on Amazon, 'A Quiet Place'.
Sometimes those samples don't give you the complete picture.
In other words you need more than two seconds to judge a song.
I did'nt care for this cd as a whole. It sounds dated, though
I am a big fan of Take 6. I especially like their sessions with
Stevie Wonder, but this cd comes across as just another one of
thoses Boy Bands from the 80s and 90s.

By now, if you have any interest in gospel, R&B, hip hop or harmony singing in general, you've probably heard and loved TAKE SIX. But if you haven't heard this, their first offering, you're missing the best of what they can do. Everything that came after was built on this extraordinary 1986 debut, which features jazzed-up acapella arrangements of traditional and modern spirituals and Christian standards. I'm not Christian and I don't listen to TAKE SIX for the religious message. For me, it's all about the music, and the way these six remarkable singers take this brilliantly arranged material to the stratosphere. Take 6's debut album is a fresh take on the a cappela front. Their musical skills and sound are far superior to any of their "colleagues": Boyz II Men, Backstreet Boys and other copy and paste boy bands look like pee-wee wannabes in comparison to Take 6's musical tone and integrity. The group sings together with a tightness I've never heard in a vocal group before: their inflections, intonation, dynamics, and note attacks and releases are superior. I might also add that all of this is accomplished with complex, intricate, and tight jazz chord structures that other bands could only dream of pulling off.
For a musical journey of precision, power, fun, and joyous good news, this album is one of a kind.

TAKE 6 has everything : anointing, Holy Spirit inspired music and lyrics, and wonderful for worshiping the Lord in dance. Just wish they could do more.

I've admired these guys since I first saw them in concert in the early 90's. If you've never heard them or don't know if you'd like a-capella songs, try this one. It's worth every penny.
