Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: Novus Magnificat, a gorgeous, otherworldly opus from classically trained pianist Constance Demby, has become a true classic in New Age music, appealing to a wide variety of listeners, many of whom are ordinarily put off by the genre. Rooted in worship music of the Western tradition, Demby's majestic improvisational vision produces what the 1986 disc's liner notes call "Contemporary classical Spacemusic: A Magnificat and Exaltate." Incorporating the central voice of synthesizer with a string-and-horn section, piano, organ, bells, and tympani, a choral voice joins with instrumental passages, setting a blissfully reverent tone throughout this two-part melodious marvel. Master composers Bach and Vivaldi come to mind when hearing the keyed chord progressions and swirling strings, making Novus Magnificat a keenly majestic score for use during massage, labor and birth, meditation, worship, or relaxation. --Paige La Grone

Is 'Novus Magnificat: Through the Stargate' by Constance Demby the most heavenly piece of Space Music ever? I think it is.
From the first time I heard this piece of music, I have been awestruck by the sheer magnificence of Demby's composition. You literally feel as though you're approaching the gate's of heaven and then, the gates open and you walk through to the most astounding music - soaring choirs and effects melodiously accompany your journey - and the whole experience leaves you lost for words. And that's just Part One.
I have other albums of Demby's and I have explored recommended Space Music albums of other artists such as Kevin Braheny's 'Galaxies', but none of them can match the majesty and glory of 'Novus ... Read More:

Masterpiece... Classic...This is truly one the all time greats in music of any genre,style,etc... First heard this on the radio in the 80's and was like woah..what was that!!! As good as much of the other music was, this stood out so profoundly. I just recently rediscovered this as well as her song "I Set Myself Free" and will purchasing much more from Constance. However...this is a case where I will be ordering directly from her website rather than Amazon to fully support her. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!

I have been purchasing New Age music since 1983. There is something about this CD that goes straight to my core. There are very few sound patterns that can really "rock my soul's world" as it were and produce such an emotional response. The beauty is so strong and powerful, that it reminds me of something lost, yet something so precisous I want it to be found. I'm sure it will affect different people in different ways. I do not listen to it often, but when I need to go to that place emotionally, this takes me there every time.
