Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: Having sat most of the '80s out, Boz Scaggs returns in the mid-'90s as an urbane blues crooner, effectively bringing his music full circle from the sleek, disco-friendly pop of his '70s commercial zenith to the purer R&B of his late '60s debut. Come Home is a soulful valentine to the same models that informed that first outing, juxtaposing solid new originals against venerable songs from Jimmy Reed, Earl King Johnson, Sonny Boy Williamson, Willie Mitchell, and other blues and soul masters from Memphis, Texas, and Chicago. Scaggs, always a model of taste (who else could have produced disco hits that still sound stylish), juggles two blue-chip rhythm sections with strategic infusions of soulful brass, greasy organ, and Scaggs's own deep-fried guitar work sustaining the set's bluesy accents. --Sam Sutherland

I am a huge fan of Mr. Scaggs and I own just about every release he has put out. (The Japanese imports are wonderful).
This album is pure, upbeat blues and it is happening.
Buy this disc for your morning ride to work to get you moving, and get the album, "Fade into Light" for the evening with a glass of wine and time with someone special.

I was so excited to find out Boz did a blues cd, I got it immediately and it still moves me tremendously every time I listen to it. There is not one mediocre song on it. If I was stranded on an island and could have only one cd, this would be it! His voice is so smooth and the arrangements are top-notch, the playing excellent. Now he has a new cd coming, sounds like it might be straight-ahead blues too, can't wait! I have always loved Boz and I have always loved the Blues; the 2 are a perfect duo!

On the opening track "It All Went Down The Drain," Boz sounds highly reminiscent of John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers (and that's definitely intended as high praise). And just as Clapton had his journeys into pop and reggae-lite and came roaring back home with "From The Cradle," Boz steps back into the bluesy framework of his first eponymous post-Steve Miller Band album. Boz has a naturally "smooth" sound, but in his case it's NOT synonymous with "lifeless." Listen to "Found Love" and you'll see the difference. The "Silk Degrees" audience is now part of the "Golden Oldies" crowd, and I'm not sure who bought the post-"Silk" albums, but I can tell you who SHOULD own this one...fans of the first album. The seven-minute "Your Good Thing (Is About ... Read More:
