 Rating: - Dim Lights, Thick Smoke and Loud Music...The Genuine ArticleAbout thirty seconds into the first song you start smelling the spilled beer and cigarette smoke. This is the kind of music that put the "Tonk" in "Honky Tonk." Every song is absolutely great. Which should come as no surprise after one reads the liner notes. The musicians that played on these tracks were a veritable line up of Nashville's "A-List." Players like Hank Garland, Grady Martin, Buddy Emmons, Floyd Cramer and Pete Drake, just to name a few. And if that isn't enough for you, Charlie's even got the great Ray Price singing backup on a few songs! Lyrically, of course, the songs are deeper and darker than anything out there today.
