Although it's almost forty years old, this album sounds so fresh. Mitchell's guitar and piano is wonderfully fluid. And then there's her voice. An instrument so fine, the notes send shivers down the spine. Part of the mystique of this album is the honesty, even fragility of emotions. But there's just as much artistry in Joni Mitchell's Blue. A melancholy beauty. A well-worked gem of an album. The kind of music I remember hearing in kitchens with granola in the cupboard. Or at dawn just as the first birds start to sing. Frost on the grass.

There's no denying that Kathryn Dawn Lang is one of this country's most unique artists. From her early days fronting a Patsy Cline tribute band, to making a big splash into the music biz pool in 1984 with her cowboy boots, old time granny specs, cowboy shirt and hoop skirt. Well-deserved critical acclaim and commercial success soon followed as she continued to set a higher standard with each album released. Her duet with Roy Orbison on "Crying" was magical and her 1982 hit "Constant Craving" was as near to musical perfection as a song could ever be. God, I recommend everybody go and revisit this album (or pick it up for the first time if you've never heard it before). This album still rocks!

This cd is a beautiful result of living in Spain and creating! it is simply a gorgeous cd, speaks to me of far away culture and romance!

It is a favourite in my collection and whenever I play it for friends, they always ask...who is this?
