I think that "The Killers" will always be recognizable because the lead singer has a unique voice. I realize that "The Killers" like any other band try to start experimenting with things after a few albums have been put out. I rank this album above "Sam's Town" which was just brutal, and below "Hot Fuss" because I think "Hot Fuss" was and still is their top album. Like the song "Somebody Told Me" sold the "Hot Fuss" album the song "Human" is going to sell the "Day & Age" album. A lot of the songs on this particular Killers album I found to be the band trying to come out with a charismatic & heartfelt album of songs. Wow what a beautiful CD very calming in this world we live in. We found this to be full of beauty (we are ukrainian byzantine catholics and our entire liturgy is sung by all priests and congregation-harmonies to die for- we know beauty when we hear it) This will be played over and over again God bless all involved in this project.

Don't get fooled into this if you want a concert c.d/d.v.d. package...the d.v.d. contains nothing but music, there is no concert footage; "very disapointing"...the trailer does tease you with some future possabilities of footage; that would be nice...if it were just a c.d. I would give 5 stars; but as a package it's not worthy!!!

Pros: Video and Sound: Top Notch
Cons: After all is said and done you realize just how much of a shmaltz-meister Foster is (and he admits it too)and so this video never really gets moving. I will say that he is one of the best shmaltz-meisters around.

Love Theme from St. Elmo's Fire - David Foster, Kenny G
Kenny G is fine as long as he isn't given the chance to play
too many notes and this works because David knows this too and didn't let him solo too much.

David Foster: Can't Help Falling in Love. Fun and Jazzy.
Entertaining and much better than Boccelli trying to sing it seriously in english

Performing This Week...Live At Ronnie Scott's

Having recently purchased several of Jeff's cd's from Amazon on sale, I couldn't resist when this new live disc came out for $10. The band line up is the same that performed @ Clapton's 2007 Crossroads charity concert (my favorite segment on that dvd set).

This is one awesome live concert. The band performs flawlessy and Jeff's guitar wizardy is bang on. Though not always a fan of live cd's, I heartly recommend this one. 70+ minutes of rock / blues / jazz fusion and even a Beatles cover tune !

Compared to his two comtemporaries (Clapton and Page), Jeff is not resting on his laurels and continues to evolve / expand his repetoire. For this reason he surpasses Eric and Jimmy. This live disc shows why.
