Don't get fooled into this if you want a concert c.d/d.v.d. package...the d.v.d. contains nothing but music, there is no concert footage; "very disapointing"...the trailer does tease you with some future possabilities of footage; that would be nice...if it were just a c.d. I would give 5 stars; but as a package it's not worthy!!!

I will be honest I wanted Hallelujah off of this album. It is fantastic! However this album is also a great choice for anyone who loves Leonard Cohen's songs. K. D.Lang's voice is of course, phenomenal!

It's not necessarily his 16 best songs, but these are arguably his 16 best-known ones. A casual Neil Young listener myself, I found this collection to be a decent, no-frills sampler of his career, similar in scope to the Bachman-Cummings Songbook cd by touching on various solo & group work. It does focus on his prime 70's period, so don't expect any 80's electronica experiments or 90's Pearl Jam collaborations here (although the 80's & 90's are represented by one song each), just the great standards heard every day on classic rock radio. The sound is nicely remastered, and although it does miss many of his classics, it is a pretty good starting point for those getting into the guy's catalogue. To think that someone sat on these tapes all this time.

This set made the hair on the back of my head stand up and misted my eyes too.

In the era that this concert occurred there were some pretty bad concerts with terrible sound.

This set should have been available years ago.

It is one of the finest live recordings by any performer, that I have ever seen or heard.

There's no denying that Kathryn Dawn Lang is one of this country's most unique artists. From her early days fronting a Patsy Cline tribute band, to making a big splash into the music biz pool in 1984 with her cowboy boots, old time granny specs, cowboy shirt and hoop skirt. Well-deserved critical acclaim and commercial success soon followed as she continued to set a higher standard with each album released. It's hard to believe that I picked up "Rust Never Sleeps" on vinyl more than 20 years ago. I just downloaded the album the other day and it still holds up all these years! God, I recommend everybody go and revisit this album (or pick it up for the first time if you've never heard it before). This album still rocks!

It's hard to believe that I picked up "Rust Never Sleeps" on vinyl more than 20 years ago. I just downloaded the album the other day and it still holds up all these years! God, I recommend everybody go and revisit this album (or pick it up for the first time if you've never heard it before). This album still rocks!

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere

I love many othe Neil Young albums ...... but not like this one, the classic of classics.

It is sooooo "rusty" and "raw" emotionally and musically and so "pure" from the heart.

The band is so tight, Neil;s voice on this still gives me goose bumps. The rawness that just cuts you up.

Cinnamon Girl - Opens up the album with those wonderous guitar. Tremendous power in them licks, from the gut. I can hear that song 1000 times in a row.

Then we have this country, folk stuff added with Cowgirl and Down By The River. Cowgirl my favorite and after years and years, never board of that long solo that kills with that unique power, passion and "roughness" of that solo tat is so interesting. So ... Read More:

someone recently lent me a cd of this album and after a couple of listens I had to dig out my original LP (bought in 1973!) and compare the sound. The vinyl blows the cd away, it is crisp and powerful; the cd is muffled and lo-fi. Just another classic album crying out for a serious remastering, come on Neil! Get on with it.
For a strict comparison play "Old Man" on this cd and then play the version on Youngs greatest hits from 18 months ago and you will clearly see what I mean.

I cannot think of one weak album by Neil Young AND CRAZY HORSE that came out during the 70s. Some of his albums with other musicians didn't quite cut it for me (e.g., Journey through the Past). ZUMA is a perfect example of Neil & Crazy Horse doing what they do best: flexing their rock and roll muscles.

Forget the crummy cover art. Ignore the throwaway "Through My Sails" which I think he did only to give the three other guys a little work doing their downturns. This album cooks with gas and nitro. "Drive Back" is a rocking blues tune, as is "Barstool Blues". We all know the moody boiler, "Cortez the Killer", is an overlooked classic.
