Others have said so many nice things about this album. I would just like to add that I am grateful to Burton for making this beautiful work or art. It makes life worth while.

THUMBING THROUGH THE ROLLING STONE THAT WAS IN MY MAILBOX YESTERDAY, I CAME ACROSS THE ISSUE'S MAJOR ARTICLE REGARDING THE GREATEST VOICES IN MUSIC. I DID NOT SEE BURTON CUMMINGS'S NAME THERE. EVEN A HACKNEYED PUBLICATION PAST ITS PRIME MUST HAVE SOMEONE THERE WITH EARS. OH, WELL.
TO THIS DISC RELEASE, SUFFICE TO SAY THAT THE MAN'S VOICE IS BETTER THAN EVER, THE WORDS ARE EXRESSIVE AND CONTEMPLATIVE, AND THE MELODIES PURE AND MOVING. I MUST BUY MORE COPIES AS CHRISTMAS GIFTS AS I DON'T SEE A U.S. RELEASE FOR THIS GEM OF MODERN MUSIC. THANKS, BURTON, FOR MAKING IT STILL WORTHWHILE TO OWN AND USE SOUND EQUIPMENT!!!

I've been waiting for BC to have a new CD, and this one is fantastic. I've always been a fan, but every cut on this album is amazing. I think the DVD is great, too, to see the recording process and to get inside the production of each song. This is a must-have for any Burton Cummings fans, Guess Who fans, or those who just like great music. The songs have so much meaning; it's at the top of my collection.

I've been one of the faithful followers of Burton Cummings and his music since his Guess Who days...even saw them at age 15 when they played in Boston in between their So Long Bannatyne and Rockin' albums. So when the band reunited in 2000 it was a no-brainer to make the trip to Montreal to catch their show. You can imagine how I was looking forward to another studio album after Jukebox (with Randy Bachman)...this might well be the best solo recording Burton's ever released. The voice is right on the money, the music is contemporary without being trendy in the least, and the lyrics are solid, intelligent and poignant. Yes, it's a lengthy project...but it more than makes up for the time between albums...all I can say is; get in your car, put ... Read More:

Wow what an album! You wonder why it took Burton Cummings so long release such a great album after so long but you really shouldn't be surprised how good it is. After all this IS Burton Cummings - the greatest Canadian artist of all time. This album is incredible and right up there with the 70's and early 80's releases we know so well. 'Above The Ground' is a far better album that 1990's 'Plus Signs' and 1984's 'Heart'. We really haven't seen a new release as good as this since 'Sweet Sweet'. No filler on the CD. 19 very strong songs many of which could be radio hits. 'Any Minor Miracle', 'Dream', 'Look Out Charlie', 'Pretty Pictures', 'Kurt's Song' and 'Inivisible' all have the potential to take over the airwaves. If you liked any of the classic ... Read More:
